Artificial Intelligence

The engine at the centre of AfriLegacy AI: how it helps analyse financial markets in real time, what it actually does with the data, and the honest limits of what any model can know. This page explains the technology in the same plain language you will meet everywhere on the platform.

01

What the AI on this platform is

It is an analysis system whose job is to read markets continuously and surface what matters. It ingests market data around the clock, looks for recurring patterns and micro-trends, and turns its findings into structured information: signals that strategies can act on inside parameters you approve, and plain-language notes that you can read in a minute.

Its role is support, not replacement. The engine does not know your budget, your responsibilities or your plans, and it does not pretend to. You set the boundaries; it supplies the tireless watching and the fast reading. That division of labour is the whole idea.

02

How the technology works

The pipeline has four stages. Collection: market data flows in continuously from the venues and instruments the platform follows. Processing: the engine cleans and structures the raw flow, because markets produce noise before they produce signal. Continuous monitoring: models watch the processed data for the patterns they have been trained to recognise, across price, volume, volatility and trend families. Structured presentation: findings leave the engine only as something usable: a signal inside a strategy's rules, an alert to you, or a line in a report.

Nothing in the pipeline ends with a promise. The output is probability-weighted information, and every report the platform gives you states what happened rather than what will happen.

03

What the AI analyses

Price movement across the followed instruments, in shares and in digital assets alike: levels, momentum, breakout and exhaustion behaviour. Trading volumes: how much conviction sits behind each move. Volatility: how violent current conditions are, which both feeds strategy behaviour and drives the brake that can pause trading in extreme markets. Trend behaviour: how instruments are moving relative to their own recent history. Historical dynamics: how similar conditions resolved in the past, used as context, never as a guarantee that history repeats.

The engine also tracks how the instruments relate to each other, because a move that is isolated in one asset means something different from the same move across the whole market.

04

The advantages it gives you

Speed of reading. The engine processes in moments what would take a person a week, and it does so every hour without fatigue. Constant monitoring. Markets do not keep office hours, and neither does the system; your strategies are never unwatched. Time back. You supervise outcomes instead of raw data, which is the part of trading a human should own. Fresh information. Analysis reflects current conditions, not last quarter's story. Accessibility. The findings arrive in plain language, which is why beginners and experienced users both operate the same engine profitably, in different depths of detail.

05

What it does not do

Three honest limits. It does not guarantee outcomes: models find tendencies, and markets sometimes break them. It does not make your decisions: amounts, limits and the choice to run or pause are yours, by design. And it does not remove risk: the volatility brake manages exposure in chaos, it cannot make chaos profitable. Anyone selling you an AI that "cannot lose" is not describing technology, they are describing a scam.

06

Who it suits

People with limited time who still want market participation with real information behind it. Users who want technology doing the reading while they keep the decisions. Beginners who would rather learn from clear reports than from expensive mistakes. And experienced traders who want a systematic watcher alongside their own judgement, without handing over the steering wheel.

07

How to use it, in four steps

Step 1: register. Complete the form, verify your identity, take the manager's call. Step 2: activate. Fund the account in rand from From R4,500 and set your exposure limits. Step 3: get to know the tools. Walk the dashboard with your manager: followed instruments, prepared strategies, alerts and reports. Step 4: monitor. Read the reports on a schedule, adjust limits when life changes, and keep the audit history as your reference for what was changed and when.

08

An example of the engine at work

A simplified scenario, illustrative only. Suppose a followed asset begins rising on a quiet afternoon while the rest of the market stays flat. The engine registers the price move, checks the volume behind it and finds it heavy rather than thin, and compares the pattern against historical behaviour of similar isolated moves. A strategy whose rules match this configuration, and whose parameters you approved, may open a position within your exposure limits. If volumes then fade while price stalls, the engine flags exhaustion and the strategy exits per its rules. You receive a short note explaining both events, and the monthly report shows the round trip with its costs.

Had the same move occurred during a violent market-wide swing, the volatility brake could have paused trading instead, because the same pattern in a different context means something different. That is the engine's real skill: reading the context, not just the shape.

09

Questions about the AI

Does the AI trade automatically? It executes inside strategies whose parameters you approve; nothing runs on your account that you did not enable, and every change is audited. Does it work with shares and crypto at once? Yes, the same engine reads both directions, which is part of why its context signals are useful. Do I need experience to use it? No; the reporting layer and your manager carry beginners, and depth is there when you want it. Does it ever stop? The monitoring is continuous, but trading pauses under the brake in extreme volatility and for platform maintenance, both of which you are told about. Can it lose money? Yes, like any system that participates in markets; see the risk disclosure for the full picture.
